ABOUT AISLA

Artificial Intelligence Studies in Literature and Arts(AISLA)(Print ISSN: -; Online ISSN: -) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Hong Kong Information Education Publishing Company Limited. AISLA publishes two issues each year in both Chinese and English.

Scope and Topics

The Artificial Intelligence Studies in Literature and Arts(AISLA)is dedicated to centering the entanglement of artificial intelligence and literary arts in critical scholarly inquiry and advancing interdisciplinary research across national, linguistic, disciplinary, and media boundaries. Distinct from conventional human-centered literary and aesthetic criticism, the journal focuses on AI-augmented creative workflows, emergent aesthetic paradigms, the reshaping of authorship and textual ontology, the logics of algorithmic generation, curation and circulation, as well as the reciprocal interactions between human creators, intelligent systems, platforms, audiences, regulatory frameworks and socio-technical contexts. The journal welcomes theoretical critique, case studies, comparative research, media archaeology, archival inquiry, digital humanities, computational aesthetics and empirical analysis, and encourages dialogue between global critical frameworks and localized artistic practices. Beyond established research on generative texts and images, it pays particular attention to emergent artistic subjects, including AI co-created literature, algorithmic poetics, computational narrative, AI-assisted theatre, audiovisual and transmedia works, alongside evolving creative ecosystems, intelligent agents, copyright ethics and cultural governance in machine-augmented literary and artistic production. The journal aims to provide an open and rigorous scholarly platform for researchers worldwide, to foster theoretical innovation and knowledge accumulation in AI and literary arts studies, and to deepen critical understanding and interpretation of how intelligent technologies reconfigure artistic expression, cultural production and aesthetic experience across diverse contexts.
